Belize, a country on the Caribbean coast of northern Central America was founded in 1638 by British lumber harvesters.  Belize City is the largest city in the Central American country of Belize.  Belize has a land area of 22,800 sq km with population of around 334,297. The city is the country's principal port and its financial and industrial hub.

The visitors who are interested in travel to Belize, must have a valid passport for at least 3 months after the date of arrival and a return ticket.  Visitors are given a 1-month stay, after which an extension can be requested.  Citizens of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Caribbean, European Union, and Central American Countries do not need a visa.

Know Some Interesting Things Before Travel to Belize:

  • Getting around Belize is pretty easy and part of the adventure.  Here the travelers can travel by plane, car, bus, boat, or horse.  It has a well-designed highway and road system that connects with all towns, villages and attractions.  It is safe to say there are more things to do here than you could possible cover in one visit.

  • Belize zoo is the best way to get an introduction to the animals of Belize.  With everything from macaws, storks, howler monkeys, eagles, and crocodiles, things can get pretty wild at Belize zoo.  The zoo spans over 29 acres and it is called one of the best in the Americas.

  • The North Islands are all about relaxing.  Here, you can entertain the day lounging on the beach, but if you are not keen on relaxing, there is plenty to do under the sea.  You can explore Shark Ray Alley and Hol Chan Marine Reserve for snorkeling and scuba diving.  It is said to be the best in the world.
  • When you plan to travel in Belize, you don't need to think about any particular place because here history is every where.  Caracol is said to be an important site, which is located in western part of Belize.  It is said to be the center of one of the largest Maya kingdoms and today it contains the projecting remains of thousands of structures.
